The barque Mataurn, bonce, has arrivsd it London, having reached the place named on the 19th inst. Her trip has been a Bomewhat lengthy one, and we feel sure has been a tedious one to Captain Greenstreet, who hoped to make a quick ran homo, so as to give Auckland the fullest benefi: of its first shipment of meat hence. No word is mentioned of how her cargo is, whether it ha 3 arrived in good order or otherwise. Shippers from here are all anxious to know the fate of this shipment which started hence under such favourable circumstances. The information will no doubt be received during the next day or two.

Masters of vessels are warned to keep a Bharp look out in Kangitoto Channel to-morrow afternoon during the shot and Bhell practice of the A Battery of Artillery.

The s.s. Waitaki, one of the amaller boats of the Union Co.'s fleet, has been purchased by the Kiimo Coal Co. for the purpose of bringing coal, &c., to this peri. The Waitaki is a handy little vessel, and one that should prove eminently suitable for the trado between here and Whangarei. Captain Crawford, who has been for some years in tho employ of the Northern S.S. Co., has been appointed to thS post of maßterof the new vessel.

The e.Gk-uelg, from Tauranga, arrived in harbour early yesterday morning with passengers and orso. She left again for the nam 3 placo last evening under the charge of Captain Johnson, who will for the future hold command in the room cf Oaptain Crawford resigned.

The s.s. Wairarnpa took her departure for Melbourne, via Southern ports, yesterday afternoon, shortly before one o'clock. By this vessel some 108 tons uf transhipment cargo, ex Doric, from London, was sent forward to Dunedin.

The barque Loch Dee, from Lyttelton for London, has been " posted " at Lloyds. The barque was owned by tho Bame owners aB the Loch KeD, Loch Fleet, and such vessels. The Loch Dee has visited this port from London upon one or two occasions, and she had the name as well as the appearance of being a smart staunch vessel. The vessel, on the 19th instant, was 200 days out. Her cargo consisted chiedy of erain. &c.

The barque Buttermcre. for Newcastle and San Francisco, will haul off from the wharf today, and eail to-morrow.
