Londok, September 17. The. cargo of frozen meat on board, the steamship Ciizco, from Sydney, arrived in good condition. The cargo of mutton by the ship O.pawa, from the Bluff, arrived in good condition, but the quality of the rneat is inferior to that of previous shipments* The first portion of the cargo was sold to-day, at 6}d to 6fd per lb. CAREY'S MURDERER. London, September 17. O'Donnell, who was charged with the murder of James Carey, the Irish informer, arrived at Plymouth from, the Cape, and shortly he will be placed on his trial. r FRANCE AND THE CHINESE DIFFICULTY. Paris, September 17. M. Challemp.l-Lacour, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, has received his conge, and will be replaced in that position by M. Ferry, the President Minister. I New Zealand securities: are as follow:—The 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 103, ex div.; 5 *per cent. 1889 loan, 106J; 4£ per cent. 1879-1904 loan, 100|; 4 per cent, inscribed stock, 101. The market rate oi discount has fallen to 3§ per cent; the bank rate is3-J.-The grain market' continues dull, with a downward tendency. Adelaide wheat, ex store, remains at 475; New Zealand ditto has fallen Is 6d per quarter, and is now quoted at 41 £ to 455. Adelaide flour is 335. The tallow market is unchanged. Australian best beef, 40s ; best mutton, 41s. ■ LONDON WOOL SALES, '■- London, September 17. At the wool sale to-day, 11,700 bales were offered. The market continues firm.
