PLUMPTON PARK COMPANY.

A labgely-attended meeting of shareholders in the proposed Plumpton Park Company was held last evening at the Albert Hotel. Mr. A. E. Isaacs presided. He explained that he had issued a 6ircular to shareholders convening this meeting, and the first thing was to bring before them a proposed alteration in the original prospectus by adding the words " but they have deferred making final arrangements regarding the grounds pending further information from Australia and elsewhere." It was for the meeting to say whether they would have this clause instead of finally adopting Mr. McLaughlin's offer.—Mr. Wallnuit pointed out that the proepectus was adopted, and it was on that prospectus the gentlemen had put down their names to take shares. It could not be altered without striking out all that had been already done, and commencing anew.— Mr. O'Sullivan said that, at the meeting at which the prospectus wa3 adopted at the close of a coursing club meeting, there were many present who were not shareholders. —Finally, Mr. Walnutt read the minutes of the meeting referred to, which had already been signed by the Chairman. They showed that the offer of Mr. McLaughlin, and the prospectus had been adopted, and provisional directors appointed. —Mr. O'Sullivan said that a meeting of directors had been held, and the result was to call this meeting.— Captain Rich proposed that they do not decide on any ground till they get farther information. He under atood a gentleman was to come from Australia, who would give them valuable advice. —Mr. Lanigan seconded the motion, but after some discussion, it was withdrawn, and the following substituted, "That the old prospectus be rescinded, and the new one (which was read) adopted." The only alteration was to include the clause referred to, and this waa carried. The names of Messrs. R. E. Isaacs, J. A. Whitson, and H. W. Henderson were added to the directorate, and it was agreed that it should be an instruction to the Secretary to issue the now prospectus and get in the money for the shares as quickly as possible. For the office of Secretary there was a contest. Mr. O'Sullivan was proposed by Mr. jB arris and Mr. Wallnutt by Mr. Fenton. A ballot was taken Messrs. Harris and Henderson being scrutineers, and tbe result was 17 votes for Mr. Wallnutt and 12 for Mr. 0 Sullivan. Mr. Wallnutt was, therefore declared elected. Before closing the meeting, the Chairman stated that 1450 shares had already been taken up. A vote of thanks to the Chairman terminated the meeting.
