The New ZeaUnd Loan a d M-rcadtile Agency Company's circular of the abovo da.e gives tho following quotations :— Wool.—There has been a fair enquiry during tho past fortnight, but though several sales have been made by privnte treaty, the quantities disposed of have small, and do not represent in the aggregate any important total. At the public sales at Antwerp, which are still in progress, and which will close on 10th instant, competition and prices have on the whole slightly hardened. In the general conditions upon which the trade depends, there has latterly been but little change. The requirements of machinery remain no duubt very considerable, but the margin upon which manufacturers and spinners are now working is ex'retnely narrow. Corn Moikkt.—During tho past two woeks there has been some improvement in the gen ral harvest prospects, though the weather has b*cn somewhat unsettled, and rust and red maggot are reported as prevalent in certain districts. The temporature in the nUht time has been considerably higher, but continued sunshine Is now much needed. Winter barley and oats are being harvested a d, in exceptionally early districts, wheat has been cut. but harvest operations will not be general for another week or ton days. In France considerable da • age has been done, ind harvest work retarded, by continuous rains, but the most recent retorts are moro favourable. The wea;her in Germany has boen unsettled, but on the Danube, harvest orations are rapidly Oeing carried on. The accounts from America are not satisfactory. Tallow.—During the past fortnight, a total of 2372 casks of Australian and New Zealand has been offered at the usual public sales, and of this quantity 1502 passed the hammer. Copra.—There ha 3 been a fair market at previous rates—viz., £20 per ton for fair average Sydney sundried, and £18 7a Cd per ton for kiln-dried. The importations into London in July amounted to 197 tons.

New Zealand Hkmp.—Nothing of importance has transpired in this market since our last issue. We quote—Common, £22 to £23 per ton ; good medium, £25 ; good, £24 ; fine £30 per ton.

Kauri Gom.—We have to report a quiet market in this also, pending the offering of the now arrivals (about 1800 cases) on the 10th instant. At auction, held on tho 2nd instant, 117 casos wire offered, and GO cases sold at steady prices.
