The sixth concert of the Orchestral Society is announced for Thursday next in the Choral Hall—conductor Herr Carl Schmitt. 'J he programme, which will be found in another column, comprises a great variety of high-class music from the-workß of Mendelssohn, Haydn, Verdi, Mozart (overture to Zauberflote) Michaclis. The principal soloists will be Miss Stevens, Mrs. Cooper, Messrs. Edwards and J. Hanua. Several of the vocal solos will be accompanied by the orchestra. The Orpheus Glee Club will render some of their best pieces. It is proposed to erect a Roman Catholic church in Hawera. The Rev, Dr. McMillan will preach at St. Mark's ChurcU, Kemnera, to-morrow forenoon. We have received 10a from G. R. for the benefit of Mrs. Hudson.
