THE LAIE MR. E. G. McMINN.
INQUEST AND FUNERAL. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN COBSKarONUKNT.] Alexandra, Monday. This inquest on the body of the late Mr. E. G. McMinn took place on Saturday last at deceased's residence, before Mr. T. Gresham, coroner, and a jury, Mr. T. Thompson being foreman. Evidence was taken that the deceased had complained of feeling a great depression and fatigue, and a desire for sleep, some days previously. Dr. Blunden, who examined the body, is of opinion that he died from natural causes. A verdict was given accordingly. The funeral of Mr. McMinn took place yesterday, and was, without exception, more nnmcroußly attended than any previous so solemn an occasion in this district: Friends from all parts of the district were present— ■froiii Hgaruawahia, Hamilton, Kihikihi, Ohaupo, Tuhikaramea, and Harapipi. Upwards of two hundred persons were on horseback, ie carriages, and on foot, Bhowing the great respect in which thedoceased gentleman was held. The Rev. Mr. Phillips officiated, and read tlie service most impressively.
