Government Notification. | SALE OF PASTORAL, LEASES OF CItOWN LANDS. PRELIMINARY XOTICE. General Crown Lands Offico. Wellington, COth September, ISS2. One Million seven liundrod and fifty thousand acres of Crowe Lands will shortly be open for pastoral lease in the Provincial District of Otago, .New Zealand. This country is at present held under lease in forty-six runs until the Ist of March, IS.*4, and will an 71 be offered in runs suitable to ihe nature of the country ; but no lessee will be allowed to take up more than will carry twenty thousand sheep or four thousand head of cattle. Tho leases will be for a term of years to be hereafter 1 determined: but in no case will any lease be for a period exceeding twenty-one years. Compensation for improvement up to three years' rental will be allowed at the end of the lease. In order to givo now pastoral lessees time to make arrangemants, the licenses will, in terms of the Land Acts, be sold by public auction, at tho Lane Office, Dunedin, in the latter end of February, ISS3 twelve months before possession is to be given. One years rent will be payable in advance on the liccns< at tho time of sale. The couutry has been occupied for upwards o twenty years. * It ia well grassed, well watered, sound and healthy.
