THE HAMILTON CASE.
A FURTHER REMAND GRANTED. Thomas Priestley and Miriam Hamilton were brought up at the Police Court on Saturday 011 remand 011 a charge o£ wilfully murdering Hugh A. Hamilton on the 29th November, ISS'2. The Court was crowded, and the road leading from the police cells to the Court was lined with persons eager to see Priestley and Mrs. Hamilton. On the case being called on, Priestley walked from the guard-room into the box with a quick step, and looked calmly around at. the crowd in the Court. He was paler than on the first occasion on whi<:hlie was brought up. Mrs. Hamilton walk ad slowly into the box, with her head bow ed, and only raised her eyes languidly once 'jr twice. Mr. Ear! said he appeared for t'no accused, Thomas Priestley, and applied remand for eight clear days, as he had . only been instructed that morning. He thought this remand would snic booh the prosecution and the defence. He had also to make a similar application for Mr. Tile- j. Cooper, counsel for the accused Mrs. H- .milton.
