Thames Dkep Level Tribute. — The contractors in the south drive, at the 640feet level, hare got through the reef, and the drive is now into good-looking country. During the last week the contractors have made good progress with the drive. Detached Squadron.—We are informed that the Success reef has been traced on the surface right through Queen of England Company's lease, and into the Detached Squadron Company's ground. The reef follows the ridge, and strong colours of gold have been found all along the outcrop of reef in the company's ground.

Southern Ceoss.—The mine manager, under date 6th iast., reports :—A connection has beeH made between the winze and No. 4 level, and we are now driving on the reef. The drive is now in 10 feet, and the reef about 20 inches in thickness. lOlbs. specimens was received yesterday, and lOlbs. today, and gold is showing in tke top of the drive and also in the bottom. Kabaka Company.—Mr. Newson Crawford (brother of the manager of the Kuranui Hill Company) has been appointed manager of this company, and operations have been started to clean out and extend a level to intersect No. 1 reef.

Sharkmarket.—Sales : Queen of Beauty, 21s ; Southern Cross, 19s 6d ; Bright Smile, 2s. Sellers : Deep Level, 2s 9d ; Prince Imperial, 36s 6d. Radical (Owharoa). —Read and party, tributers, arrived in town this afternoon, with 145Jozs. gold. Makinkr and London. —Communication between the Crown Princess and Exchange shafts was effected yesterday at No. 2 level. The distauce between the two shafts is about 1100 feet. As some portion of the cross-cut is rather shaky, it will be necessary for the manager to have the men engaged a few shifts in timbering up. As soon as this is done, the manager will then start to clean out a winze between Nos. 2 and 3 levels for air purposes. Corojundel, Thursday evening.

Tokatea.—The manager reports obtaining 1301bs of good picked stone from the small leader, No. 7 level. Gold is also showing through the general stuff. The manager is now timbering the ground and making provision for sinking the winze oil a future day. A drive has been started on the west side of No. 2 cross-cut. The western intermediate level is not looking so well at present, although the leader is going through good country. They are now within 65 feet of the vertical on No. 7 rise, Van level. Prospecting stopes are being driven in various places between No. 2 and 4 passes. The battery is kept going, the (lay shift making a fair show on the plates. Will clean up on Friday. Kai'akga.—We are following the good find in the bottom level, and there is every appearauco of opening up a rich section of the reef. The country is very good. The rise on the old reef is making steady progress, and will soon be in communication with the old winze. They are stoping at the 300 feet level, and turning out good payable stuff.

loNA.—The manage! is very busy opening the chamber bottom of the shaft. The old drive appears to have caved in very extensively. The country is remarkably good. The manager expects to have everything in shipshape in about a week.

Jost in Time.—The crushing is shaping for good payable returns. There is no change to report. Only a few men are employed in stoping. Beach.—lt is reported that a little gold is coining to hand from the section of the reef left unworked. No movements have been made for sinking the winze.

Homeward Bound.—There is a slight improvement in the intermediate level. The country haa considerably improved in the lower level.

Goldk.n Buttkkki.y.—They have struck a reef in the lower level. A little gold is showing. About 10 feet will intersect the winze. Bi.ackmork. —Driving is being continued on the new reef. There is a fair show of gold. The manager is very sanguine that it will turn out well.
