WEST END SECOND ELEVEN V. EXCELSIOR.

This match was played on the Domain ground on Saturday, and resulted in rather an easy win for the West End. Excelsior handled the bat first for a total of 40 ; Smith, with 10, was the principal contributor. West End, in their innings, had compiled 96 before the last wicket fell. Berry (12), Sim (11), Waters (12), and Hanna (12), got their runs by good wicket. Berry, for the West End, and Waddingham and Perkins for the Excelsior, bowled well. A cricket match was played in the Domain Ground on Saturday between the Eden and Herald clubs, which resulted in a vietorj' for the former in the first innings by 12 runs. The scores were : Herald, Ist innings, 33 ; 2nd innings, 74, and one wicket to fall. Eden, Ist innings, 45. The bowling of H. Goodman for the Eerald was very effective, having taken 0 wickets for 13 runs. The batting of P. Mackie, 10, S. Goodman, IS, and E. Pearson, 14, for the Herald, also of Roberts, 14, and La Roche, 12, for the Eden, was very good. A match was played between the Standard and (19) Kingsland clubs on Saturday, and resulted in a victory for the former by one innings and two runs.
