On the opening of the Court Mr. Hammond said that, with the permission of the Court, he wished to make an explanation personal to himsclf.SJMr. Sheehan had, on the previous day, given a flat contradiction in open Court to a statement of fact made by himself. The manner of the contradiction was of a kind not usual among the class known as gentlemen. But he now wished to reiterate his former statement, and to refer to certain persons present for confirmation. Mr. Shcehau demurred to an officer of the Court presuming to reflect on the conduct of the couusel.
