Although Mr. Maepherson had it pretty well all to himself in the blood stock class, yet the animals shown were worthy of a far better district than 4 Tauranga. The roadsters were a grand lot. The pair of buggy ponies shown by Mr. Whitcombe, and which deservedly took the first prize, were really excellent animals. They were got up for the occasion in a stylish and creditable manner, and were very much admired by everybody on the ground. The cattle pens were well filled, and there were good exhibits in this section. Mt's*rs. Jordan and Sheppard took first prixeiortheir very presentable bull Young Defender. The entries in the class for pigs were not numerous, butthose that were shewn were grand specimens. The show of butter was really very good and the entries numerous, but we were rather surprised that there should only bo one entry for cheese. Mr. J. Snodgrass was a very successful exhibitor of dairy produce, as he was also in the classcs for poultry and pigs.
