FOOTBALL.
WANGANUIV. WELLINGTON. [by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION".] Wellington, Tuesday. The football match, Wanganui v. Wellington, was played this afternoon. The weather was fine and the attendance was abont 500. The game was well contested, and ended in a victory for the Wellington team by "one goal and two tries (nine points) to one goal (5 points). Tho tries on the Wellington side were obtained by J. Thompson, McGregor, and McCardle, tho try by the last-named player being converted into a goal by Dumbell. H. Bayley obtained a try for Wanganui, and his brother, George, kicked a pretty goal. The Wanganui men were the favourites at 5 to 4, but little money changed hands.
