THE BREAKING UP OF THE KING MEETING.
THE CAPTURE OF PAKARA AND EPIHA. \_ll? TKI/SGBAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Alexandra, Monday. The great majority of the natives have now left Whatiwhatihoe for their homes. Paora Tuhaere, Karanama, and other leading chiefs, remain in consultation with the Kingites. Amongst the most thoughtful, great regret is felt at the last day's meeting. It is said that Tawhiao was purposely given drink early that morning by a well-known European who attended, and was not satisfied with the way things were going. The capture of Pakara and Epiha does not appear to concern them at all, but I have heard many remarks that other natives who are wanted had better not venture in the vicinity of Alexandra.
