The Fierce Competition at present raging in commercial circles at home, is nowhere moro noticeable than amongst the manufacturers of velveteens. The result is an article of superior finish, remarkable alike for its brilliancy and softness of tone. Tho nrvr shades, " Petunia," " Peacock," Maroon, Sα, in the " Amarant" make ; as, also, in a, remarkably cheap black, are on view at J. M. McLachlan's, 222, Queen-street, opposite McArthur and Co.'s large warehouse, and next to Messrs. Cruickshank and Miller's, where a cash sale is now being held.
