SAD ACCIDENT.
[BY TELRCKAPH.—OW.V CORRESPONDENT.] Alexandra, Tuesday. A sad accident happened to a young man named Powell, residing at Mr. Banks'. Kopua yesterday. While riding a colt on wiiioh he was tied, he was thrown, the horse dragging him some distance on the ground badly fracturing aud tearing his leg, the bones coming through the skin. Dr. Blundell is now here, waiting to give medical attendance. Powell is being brought down in a canoe to here. The following new school committee were appointed at a meeting last night here : — Messre. Aubin (chairman), Gentil, Finch, Sage, Lonnell, Smith, and Miles.
