A special general meeting of members was held in their office in Queen-street yesterday. for the purpose of considering the desirability of altering the date of holding the annual cattle show. There was a large attendance. On the motion of Mr. Phillijjs, Mr. Alfred Buckland was called to the chair. The Chairman said that it was thought that tho date of the show in Auckland clashed with the holding of other cattle shows, more particularly Christchurch. If a different date were fixed, there wonld.be be an opportunity afforded to the_ Christchurch people to come to the show in Auckland, and the Auckland people might visit the Canterbury show if they pleased.
