New Zealand Hebald Office, Friday evening. Mr. Gabriel Lewis reportß that at the clearingoufc sale of boots and shoes at Mr. Erownhill's store, on November 29th, there was fair competition, and, considering the nature of the lines offered, the goods sold well. At the sale of drapery on the 30th, there was a full attendance of buyers. The whole of the goods ■were disposed of at reasonable prices. Oa December Ist a sale of boots and shoes was held, at which the trade was well represented. The goods being all new and seasonable, the prices realised were satisfactory to the vendors. Mr. W. Dowdcn's weekly sale was well attended, and a brisk business was done. New potatoes realised from 4t to Cs Cd.

Mn. It. Arthur's Wkekly Kkport. — There has been a good demand for produce generally. Potatoes liavo maintained last week's prices, all sold out at auction to-day. Good new cheese moves off pretty freely, but prices continue low. Butter is not in great demand, it is difficult to get over Cd forthe best. Good bacon is in fair demand. But little doing in grain or flour. Gooseberries are bringing a good price, jyomiture has brought fair prices at auction, not much doing in new. Tuesday: Sale of furniture at mart. The attendance was pretty good, and satisfactory prices were obtained. Wednesday: Sale of furniture, pianos, &c., at Mrs. Irewis', Epsom Houre. There was a very largo and respectable audience present. Bidding was fairly J>risk, and the pnccs realised wero satisfactory. A x&uUled kauri toilet-table, with glas3, sold at £0. Xiauos, £15 10s to £32 10s. Thursday: Sale of furniture, fancy goods, toys, &c., at the mart. There was a fair attendance. Furniture did not sell so high as usual; other goods brought fair prices. Friday : Market day salo of poultry, produce, Arc., at the mart. Xhc attendance was very large.
