We are indebted to the purser, Mr. Birch, for latest files and the following report • —Left Melbourne on the 29th at 10.30 p.m., and after experiencing strong favourable winds, arrived at the Bluff on the 4th at 7 a.m. ; left same day at 4 p.m., and called at Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne, and after experiencing fine weather up the coast, arrived at Auckland on Thursday mornins' at 10. The Te Anau left for Kussell at 10 o'clock last night. The s.s. Fingal brings 57 sacke gum and 3 tons sundries from Mercury Bay. The s.s. Argyle arrived from Whangarei at 10 o'clock last night with the following cargo : 34 boxes eggs, 9 sacks hides, 11 sacks sand, 8 cases poultry, 1 case pigs, 60 sacks gum, 4 cases sundries, 1 weighing machine, 1 set harness, 2 horses, 32 dogfish, 32 packages sundries. In consequence of detention for inspection of machinery, the Argylo will not return thither until 2 o'clock to-morrow. The s.B. Argyle, when passing the Barrier yesterday, sighted a barque several miles away, supposed to be the Loongana, from Hobart. The schooner Opotiki arrived at Noumea, from Norfolk Island, on September 26. The ketch Santa Cruz sails for Suva this morning, with the following passengers : — Messrs. L. Coward, H. Brensley, and J. Robinson. The time-table of the s.s. Rose Casey appears in oar advertisement columns.
