TAWHIAO AT ALEXANDRA.

[Br TELEGKAPII. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J Alexandra, Thursday. This lias been a busy day here for Tawhiao and Rewi. This morning early, Tawhiao, having heard that the new road was to be laid out on the west side of the river, sent for Mr. "Wright, the surveyor, who went over the line with him, which he did not approve of, being much longer than on the east side, and heavy cuttings would be required. On the east side three-quarters of a mile would be saved and the ground level, which, with a bridge over the Waipa in a direct line through the township, both he and Manga considered preferable; and the desire being made known, Tawhiao informs me that it is to be done. Mr. Every Maclean was here to see the King and Rewi re some land dispute between his company and Te Oriori and theTe Ngatihau natives. Tawhiao and Rewi have sent for them here te meet him and Mr. Maclean on Monday next, when the matter will be decided by them.
