LIVE STOCK AND PRODUCE MARKETS.

AUCKLAND. Mr. Alfred Buckland's Wbekly Report.— a t tlio Haymarket, on 7th, fodder was in fair supply, and brought from 2s 6d to 3s 9d for meadow hay; oaten, 2s to 4s; straw, lls to 13a; small loads hay, ISs to 31s per load. There was a good muster of horses, and the majority of those yarded found purchasers at satisfactory prices; medium draught, brought from £21 to £27; light harness horses, £12 to £1C ; hacks, £0 to £12 10s. At the regular hide and skin sale, held at the Haymarket on Thursday, both hides and skins were in larger quantity than customary, and late prices were fully maintained. Hides brought from 3d to 4jd per lb.; sheepskins. Is 8d to 6s 3d ; pelts, 4d each ; locks and pieces, 3}d per lb.; tallow, 23s to 24s Gd per cwt. At the fair, held at Kemnera on Wednesday, cattle were yarded largely in excess of the advertisement. Above 1000 were sold, and 200 remained unsold. There was a very numerous attendance, but bidding was generally dull. Grown steers in fresh condition were the principal class required, and maintained their value throughout the sale, ranging from £5 Bs to £7 each ; three-year-old steers, £3 15s to £5; two-year-olds, £t 12s 6d to £S ss; yearlings, 40s to Uls ; calves, 25s to 40s; cows, 50s to 80s each, were the prices obtained. It will be seen from _ the above quotations that two-year-olds were those at

< the lowest relat.ve values, and it was of this class thai most of the cattle remained unsold. At Remuera on Thursday dairy cattle were Id less number than ol late, and were better worth. The store cattle held over from yesterday were yarded, and also sold at slightly advanced values. Eat cattle were in less thai average number, and barely maintained last week - ! values (unless of choice quality). Prices ranged frouj 253 to 28a per lOOlbs. Sheep were also penned in less number than usual, and advanced in value. Shors wethers brought 3d per lb., and ewes in their wool brought from 17s to 223 each. Lambs were plentiful, bat maintained their last week's prices. Good quality brought from lis to 16s each ; and dairy fed lighj weight pics were at high values. Messrs. Hdnteb asd Nolas's Weekii Repobt. —Horses: On Friday, at the Durham Yards, over ar average number were entered for disposal by auction, and, with few exceptions, all in were disposed of at an advance on last week's quotations, and there stiil exists a strong demand for good, sound horses of all descriptions. Cattle: A large number have been brought forward. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, the vards were well filled with all descriptions of stock. Dairy cows were lower and plentiful. Store cattle at late values. Beef in full supply, and sold at highei rates than last week-from 26s to 30s for top sorts. At Pukekohe, on Wednesday, the yards were crammed with cattle. Bidding was brisk and competition good, and prices obtained were in advance of late quotations Sheep : There was a moderate numbei yarded at NewmarKet on Tuesday, and consequently prices ruled in favour of the vendor. We quote; —Wethers, in wool, 17s to 22s Od; shorn, 12s 6d tc 14s 9d ; ewes, in wool, 15s Od to 2Cs 6d. Lambs wer< yarded In average numbers, and sold from 7s 3d tc 15s 9d. Pigs were plentiful, and sold well. THAMES. Messrs. Basks' and Co.'s Report (By Telegraph) —During the past week we have experienced th< uncertainties attending the receipt of stock bj sailing vessels, and our markets have not been helc with their accustomed regularity. Owing to the non arrival of vessels, we had no market last Thursday, but on Tuesday, October lUh, stock were sold direct from the boat. The quality all round was good ; satisfactory prices were obtained, prime steers making 2(is to 30s per lOOlbs.; sheep, of mixed sexes, in their wool, 3Jd to 4d per lb.; shorn wethers, 2jd. MR.
