THE MIRACLES OF KNOCK.
The Flag of Ireland devotes every week such portions of its space as are not required for dissertations 011 Knglish tyranny to an account of "the apparitions and iniraclcs at Knock." Testimonials appear every week to the efficacy of the cement from the chapel at Knock. The following are specimens : — Knock, July'iu.—Statement of a poor woman who was miraculously cured here : My name is Bridget Meauy. I live in the parish of Kilumbery, county Slieo. I was run over by a cart from my knees to my head. I was treated by Dr. Kenny for the space of three months. I had to use sticks. I visited Knock about the 7th of July, and was completely cured on the 1-ttli. I have left my sticks behind, and can walk, run, or do whatever I wish. I have also been greatly favoured by seeing lights about the lii.h altar on several occasions, and now, thank God and His Blessed Mother, I am completely cured." Another patient gives still stronger testimony. A "Miss Ann O'Neill, Kinoscopin, Cialway, visited the Knock on the 2Sth of June, in thanksgiving for having been cured of a diseased jaw by an application of the cement, and while praying at the gable on the eve of the visitation she saw the hands of the statue move as if in blessing, the robes to expand and the whole statue to appear life-like. This continued from ten o'clock until seven the next morning; she then entered the church, and was again favoured by seeing St. Patrick, St. John, and St. Joseph, surrounded by angels, until Mass ended, when they disappeared." A man named O'Hca. a railway labourer, appears to have been enabled by virtue of the apparitions and cement; to "dispense with the wooden leg" which lie had received as a possession after a railway accident at Glasgow. These remarkable cure 3 are vouched for by the Venerable Archdeacon Cavanagh.
