Compton, was held yesterday, and the following business transacted : —ln response to a letter from the Postmaster, it was resolved to instruct the pilots to grant every facility for the immediate landing of mails at the quarantine station from vessels ordered thither; also, that vessels arriving more than twelve days out from Sydney should be anchored in the Rangitoto Channel until visited by the Health Officer. That the Arawata be quarantined twelve days from the time of leaving Sydney. The Health Officer deemed it advisable that not less than twelve days' detention should be imposed, as the epidemic was increasing in Sydney.
