Walton and Carley were appointed auditors, and Messrs. Bertram and \V. Bond fenceviewers. A rate of 9d in the pound was agreed upon. At the subsequent first meeting of the Board, Mr. Sloane was elected permanent chairman. The annual meeting of the town of Kihikihi ratepayers resulted in the return of Major Jackson, Messrs. T. Farrell, Elmsley, Corboy, and Anderson as trustees. Messrs. Gordon and Donovan auditors, and Messrs. Moncrieff and McKeown fence-viewers. A rato of 9d in tho pound was agreed to, and at the first meeting of the new Board Major Jackson was elected chairman for the year. NoARUAWAinA, Tuesday. Poor Mrs. Jukes, who not eighteen months ago lost her husband while crossing the Waikato river on horseback, has herself met with a severe accident, having been thrown from her horse, and fractured her leg.
