At present there are, in the House, SI European members." It is proposed to increase the number to 91, an increase of 7. There are at present 50 representatives of South Island constituencies. Otago is to have an increase of 3, Canterbury of 7, while Nelson is to lose 3 and Westland 1. This would make the number o£ South Island representatives 56, leaving 35 representatives for the North Island, or an increase of only 1 on the present number. -••"•■ ,
