The Company's ground adjoins the Dulcibel and Martha claims at Waihi, In which the reef (37 feet through) has been proved to bo gold-bearing at different points through the-ground. The gold from this district has been sold for £3 14s 6d per oz. As soon as the mine is opened np and tho battery erected, it is confidently expected the Company wjU work and crush the quartz.without calls upon the Shareholders. The quartz can be won aiid sent to the battery for 3s 6d per ton, and crushed for about the same amount. The Company have secured the water right, and, in a few months, it is expected the returns from the Mine will prove highly remunerative. This Company is formed for the purpose of Manufacturing (in the Cm of Auckland) Nevt Zealand Hemp, Manilla Hejip, Flax, and other Vegetable Fibres, into Rope, Twixe, Mattiko, Sacks, and other articles in which they can be employed, giving special attention to the manufacture of Twine suitable for the Keaper and Binder Machines now so largely in use in the Colonies. The Promoters have arranged to take over the Plant and Business of the Auckland Rope Company, together with the extensive and valuable Machinery of tho New Zealand Fibre Company at Kaihu. These they will hand over to the Company on the same favourable and advantageous terms as they have succeeded in making with the parties concerned. They have also been in communication with a leading English firm, regarding the necessary preparing machinery for the production of tho Reaper and Binder 'I wine. A mest eligible site for tho erection of the Works is at prosout under offer to tho promoters, the purchase money for which is fixed and agreed upon. Tin's property—so admirably adapted for tho proposed industry, being in close proximity to the Wharf and Railway Station— will also be handed over by them to the Company, at the prices they have arranged with the owners of same. Tho Lirge and increasing demand for Rope, Twine, and Mattisu, has determined the promoters to establish this profitable industry, in this city, and thereby not only contribute to its prosperity, but assist in developing the resources of the colony generally.
