Melbourne, July 27.... ; Mr. Cosmo Newbery, the Government Analyst, has reported upon the properties of the paraffin 1 of the Southern Cross; Petroleum Company that it contains 3 per cent, of water, 24 per cent, of clay, 73 per cent, of paraffin and oils. Judging from the trials, he estimates the oils at 10 per cent., but has not yet had time to separate them. It is estimated that after cleansing the stuff will be worth £28 per tun. ' . ' '
