BANKRUPTCY. J&b G. A. Pbobert.—A meeting of creditors was held on Friday in this estate. The debtor was described as a builder carrying on business in Karangahape-road. The liabilities were set down at £17219s 6d and tho assets at £219. Mr. Thomas Macffarlano was elected trustee. Re William Hensihw.—K moeting of creditors was to have been held in this ostato on Friday, but was adjourned to Saturday. The debtot|was described as a commission agent, of'Tauranga. No creditors appeared. Tho liabilities were set down £101 and the assets at £5* Mr. Thomas Macffarlano was appointed trustee. POLICE COURT.—Saturday. [Before It, C. Barstow, Esq., R,M,I Drunkenness.—William . Lestrange, a frequent .involuntary attendant at tho Police Court on various chargos, was sentenced to six months' imprisonment with hard labour for habitual drunkenness. Laroent.—William Knapp was charged with stealing a coat, valued at 255, the property of Andrew Heavey. Mr. Laishley, for the accused, asked for a remand, which was granted, and bail was allowod in his own recognisances and one surety to a like amount. Obstructing the Roadway. — Henry Green pleaded guilty to obstructing Fonsonby-road by placing three loads of bricks on it. As he was not the contractor, who had been previously cautioned, a nominal fine of Is and costs, 9s, was imposed. Wandering Cattle.-^-John. Campbell, for allowing his cattle to wander in Lincoln-street, Ponsonby, was fined 10s and costs.

Night Soil Keg t; i.ati ox 3. —Ixl m n Stockley and Thomas Hamilton pleaded gnllty to a breach of tho regulations by conveying offensive matter along Pon-sonby-road after Go'clook on the morning of the 28th instant. Thoy were Ignorant of tho law. Mr. Pardy said as the case was only brought as a caution he thought a nominal fine would meet it, bat in future offences of this kind he would ask for a heavier penalty. They were each fined Is and costs.
