TAUPIRI COAL-MINING COMPANY, LIMITED.

The half-yearly: general meeting of the shareholders inthis company was held at the office, Fort-street, at 2 p.m. yesterday,—Mr. John Roberton in the chair.

The following resolutions were passed:—

1. That the directors' report and balance-sheet be adopted. . .2. That Messrs. Eoberton and Hammond be re-elected directors.

3. That the sum of fifty guineas annually be appropriated to remunerato the directors for their attendance at meetings. :

The directors bcit to lay before the shareholders the balance-sheet for tho half-year ending 30th Juno. The profit and loss account shows a profit for the half-year of £921 7s fld, from which the directors recommend the payment of one shilling per share; absorbing £600. The dividend will be payable on the Sth *ugost. . . The low level is now thoroughly opened up, and discloses a solid seam of coal from 40 feet to 60 feet thick. The qualitj- of this coal is superior to that of the upper levels, and the quantity is estimated by the mine manager at 300,000 tons.. . ... The mine Is in a safe condition, and worked in tlio most efficient and economical manner. The output of coal U steadily increasing.
