The number of holdiugs exceeding one acre in extent is 49,505, as against 24,079 in New Zealand. Of. the minor crops, there were 230 acres in chicory, which yielded 960 tons of roots; 428 acres hops, yielding 2744cwt.; tobacco, 1990 acres, yielding 17,333ewt.; vines, 4950 acres, yielding 24,817cwt. grapes not made into wine, and 77,019ewt. made into 470.956 gallons of wine and 3023 gallons of brandy. The 1056 acres of onions gave returns of 4979 tons. The wheat crop was estimated at 9,719,049 bushels, equal to 9-95 bushels per acre. '
