This Company is projected for the purpose of giving greater facilities for the large and increasing traffic between Auckland and Devonport, by providing Fast and Superior Boats at Cheap Fares. It is confidently expected that the reduction in the Fares will tend to encourage travelling, and attract visitors to the District of Devrnport, which is becoming so justly celebrated as a waterin; place for those in search of health or pleasure. The directors purpose petitioning the Harbour Board to provide a Landing Stage nearer tho City End of tho Auckland Wharf; and more Comfortable Waiting Rooms on Both sides of the Harbour. Tho promoters aro much encouraged at the very hearty and liberal manner in which the proposed Company has been receiver l by the residents of the Devonport and Lake Districts, and at the eager manner in which the shares have been enquired for, thus assuring, at once, the financial success of the undertaking.
