[BY CABLE. J [reuter's telegrams.] INTERNATIONAL WOOL EXHIBITION. Londox, June 2, The International -svool show at the Crystal Palace was opened to-day by the Duke of Connaught in the presence of a vast assemblage of people. In his speech on the occasion, His Royal Highness dwelt at length upon the importance of this staple of trade, and then on the exhibition. The only exhibitors representing the Australian Colonies are — Sir Samuel Wilson, of Victoria, and Messrs. Fisher and Pitts, of Adelaide. Some of the exhibits are not yet opened, but it is expected that the greater portion will be on view in a fortnight. The awards are to be made in August. THE IRISH LAND BILL. LoxDOSr, June 1. In the House of Commons to-day, the consideration of the Irish Land Bill in committee was resumed. The chief speech of the sitting was made by Sir Stafford Northeote, who condemned the measure, aad denounced in strong terms the feebleness of the Irish policy of the Government. No progress was made with any of the clauses of the Bill. LONDON PRESS CONDEMNS THE GOVERNMENT. London, June 1. The London Press, in discussing the present state o£ affairs in Ireland, are almost unanimous in recommending the Government to take steps to completely suppress the Land League. The Bulletin libel case came before the Court of Appeal to-day. The payment of costs in the suit is to be determined by the result of the new trial, THE VICTORIAN REFORM BILL. Melbourne, June 3. In the Legislative Assembly last night, the Reform Bill was again under consideration. After further debate, the Bill was passed, the amendments of the Legislative Council being adopted, with the exception of the alteration of the franchise qualification. One clause contained in the Bill, which originated in the Council, for the abolition of plural : voting, was moreover inserted"' in the Bill. The latter as passed by . the Assembly will now be sent to ■ the Council for further consideration; and the ultimate fate of the measure is uncertain.

The Civil'. Servants have not yet been paid their salaries for the past month, as Mr. Berry declines to introduce a Supply Bill.
