PUKEKARORE.
At the last monthly meeting of the District Mutual Improvement Class the President (Mr. T. Campell), during the delivery of an eloquent and exhaustive address, clearly pointed out to the members present some of the hindrances that would be met with during the early career of the class. These, if nofc guarded against, would crainp the usefulness of its members, retard the ardour already evinced, and bring to a hasty determination a class second to none in its powers at raising the moral and intellectul tone of the young of either sex. Mr. Campbell, in conclusion, hoped the young members would keep in view the beacons which marked the course to success, and regularly attend all meetings. The President subsequently declared the class established, and wished it great prosperity. The names of a few persons desirous of becoming members were submitted to the meeting in accordance ■with ' the rules. Their election will take place at the next meeting!—[Own Correspondent.]
