The following Extension of Inner Area By-law for Building Regulations is published in conformity with Sub-section 5. Clause 340, Municipal Corpo.ations Act, 1870, AND WILL COME INTO OPERATION On the fifth day, of May, ISSI. P. A. PHILIPS,, Town Clerk. Town Clerk's Office, April 23th, ISBI. By-law No. 24. \ That whereas it is desirable to increase the Inner Area of the City of Auckland, within the meaning oi the Regulation of the Council of the City of Auckland, made under special order of tho said Council, dated the 10th October, 1871, and confirmed the 13th day of November, 1871, commonly called "The Building Regulation of the City of Auckland." Be it ordained that the Inner Area of the same City, within the meaning of the Regulation aforesaid, and being the Regulation in respect to the Erection of Buildings within the City of Auckland, ehall be all that area of the same City within the boundary following:— All that portion of the City of Auckland within an area commencing at the abuttal of the continuation of the line of Princes-street upon the Breakwater, at high water mark; thence South along said line, parallel with Princes-street to its junction with Waterloo Quadrant; thence South-East along Waterloo Quadrant to its junction with Symond-jtreet; thence South-West along Symond-etreet to its Junction with Wellesley-street: thence South along Wellesley-street to its junction with Rutland-street; thence along Rutland-street- to its junction with Queen and Grey streets; thence along Grey-street to Cook-stroet; thence along Cook-street to its junction I with Albert-street; thence North along Albert-street j to its junction with Wellesley-street; thence West along Wellesley-street to its junction with Hobson-street; thence North along Hobson-street to its junction with Wyndham-street; thence East along Wyndhamstreet to its junction with Chapel-street; thence North along Chapel-street, and in line there—ith to high water mark; and thence Eastward along City Boundary Line to the point of commencement in line with Princes-street. '• That the Outer Area, within the meaning of the 1 Regulation aforesaid, shall comprise and be - excluding the Inner Area aforesaid—all the residue and remainder of the City of Auckland. That it shall not be lawful for any person to Erect, Construct, or Make any Building or Erection, ' mentioned, named, or referred to in the said Regulations, within the City of Auckland, except in terms . of, and within under, and subject to tho said Regulations, as hereby altered, and the several provisions that are ratified and confirmed hereby. That within the Inner Area aforesaid it shall not be lawful to Erect, Alter, Add To, Renew or Repair the External Walls, Party Walls, or Chimneys of any Building with wood or other combustible material without tho consent of the Council: Provided always, that when the external walls of any bnilding already erected are composed of Wood or Iron, the internal lining, exclusive of studding, of the walls of such house may. be repaired with tho same class of material as subli lining was originally composed of. That except as herein altered, the same Regulations are hereby ratified and confirmed : That any person ; - committing a breach of this Bye-Law, or failing to comply with its provisions, or any of them, shall be liable-to'a penalty not exceeding £5. . .
