FATAL SHOOTING CASE.

Two young lads, ,{ named Lipscy and Ritchie, both of Paeroa, e went down the river shooting. After being , n out some time they commenced tiring at some shags. Ritchie had just discharged his t s gun when Lipsey called out he was going to fire. Ilia companion being hid behind some briar }v bushes, requested hiin to wait a moment, and ~5 running in the open received the contents of , n Lipsey's gun in his forehead. T)cath was , n instantaneous. The body was conveyed to Paeroa, where an inquest was held on the le remains, and a verdict of accidental death returned. Ritchie was the son of the schoolJ, master at Paeroa, and ii is sudden death has jf cast quite a gloom over the settlement. He 1C was a member of the No. 3 Scottish Com0j pany, and his remains were interred at 3 i 0 o'clock this afternoon with military honours.
