ALFRED BCCKLAND'S WEEKLY REPORT. On Friday last, fodder was fairly competed for, and without alteration in value from previous week's prices. Horse stock were offered in full numbers, and, being principally of the class required—active medium and light draught—met with a good sale, at prices ranging from £11 to £22 each. A light harness buggy sold for £25. The sale of second-class timber at the Otahuhu wharf, on Saturday, was fully attended, and the prices obtained raDged from 2s C>tl to 7s the 100 feet.

At the sale of hides and skins, on Tuesday, hides were in slightly better inquiry ; prices ranged from 3£& to i 3-lGd the lb.; sheepskins, la 2d to 3s 6d each. Wool was rather lower in price. Scoured fleece brought from Of d to 12gd ; fleece wool, in groase, 6d to Ojd the lb. At Remuem jOQ Thursday, dairy cattle were at previous values, and no store cattle yarded. Fat cattle in average supply; 142 head yarded, all of choice quality. Prices were slightly better th*n last week, and ranged from 20s to 25s the lOOlbs., 22s being the price obtained for the greater number. Sheep were in full numbers, about 1000 yarded. Prices were steady throughout the sale at near the lb. The lambs yarded were mauy of them well grown, but wanting in quality. Best pens brought from 10s to 12s each; cross-bred wethers brought from 8s (3d to lis 6d ; longwoolled wethers, 14s Cd to 15s 6d each. MKSSHS. HUNTER AND NOLAN'S WBEKLT REFOKT. Horses.—There has scarcely been so much doing as on the previous week, but an average number have changed hands. The entries for disposal by auction at the Durham Yards were not bo numerous as on the previous week, nor were there any high-priced animals submitted, but there was steady competition, and almost without exception lots were cleared. We quote hacks. £5 to £13 5s ; light harness, £12 lOi to £10 15s; medium draught, £22 to £28 10s; heavy draught, £36. > Cattle.—The supply has been large, but the demand was slack, and prices of all descriptions ruled in favour of the purchaser. At Newmarket, on Tuesday, there was an average supply of dairy and store stock, and a large one of fat beasts, while at Papakura, on Wednesday, there were a large number of cows and store stock yarded, and prices for these descriptions ruled a shade higher than at Newmarket. Fat beasts were exceptionally low, scarcely averaging 20s per lOOlbs., price ranging from 17s to 225, and top sorts selling relatively better than inferior stores, which, although lower in value, leave but a small margin for the grazier. There remains au unsatisfied demand for well-bred youug springers, cows, and heifers. Sheep.—There was a large number yarded at Newmarket, on Tuesday. The competition was steady throughout, and prices had a slightly upward tendency as compared with last week. Lambs were rather scarce, and consequently higher than the previous week. Pigs were in increased supply, and good porkers sold at satisfactory prices.
