Me. Wm. McKenzik, of the central district, has had the misfortune to lose hia bain, which was burned to the ground on Sunday night last. He lost his year's crop of maize and hay, besides harness, two casks of beef, fowls, plough, &c. No clue "has been obtained as to the origin of the fire. The building was uninsured.
The bonds having been signed, the contractor for the Gorge Eoad (Mr. M. W. McKenzie) has to-day commenced work. Mr. GormaD, of Messrs.. Porter and Co.'s, agents for Noble's explosives, has gone to the Gorge to instruct the contractor in the use of the dynamite charges.—[A Correspondent, Jane B.]]
