TURKEY.
A Persian fanatic stabbed the Grand Shereef of Mecca, fatally, on the 14th ultimo. There was great excitement and • delight in Constantinople at the result of the English elections. Greeks, Armenians, Bulgarians and Chris'.ians rejoiced in tlio result. Four thousand Kourds, pressed by famine, descended recently from the mountains on the town of Mardun, Asia'ic Turkey, plundered it, and murdered a number of priests and nuns, and eeveral merchants.
