Egyptian troops have been defeated in lomauli, Berbereh. The King of Abyssinia is marching, with a large army, against King Menelek, of Thoa. Governor-General ot Massowah has telegraphed to the Khedivo that two bodies of insurgents were defeated and made prisoners by the troops of King John, of Abyssinia. A stone cross has been erected, by order of Queen Victoria, on the spot where the Prince Imperial lost his life. Paul Kruger and Piet Joubert, deputed by the Boers,are in Cape Town, and a peaceful settlement of the Transvaal question is expected.
