Last night, at the meeting of the Hamilton Cavalry Corps, Lieutenant Whitaker was appointed Captain, Sub-Lieutenant Johnson was appointed Lieutenant, Sergeant W. Hunt was appointed Sub-Lieutenant, Corporal James Wood was appointed Sergeant, and Trooper Limmer was appointed Corporal. TE AWAMOTU, Sunday. The holder of the mortgage on the property had another insurance of £600 in the New Zealand Company. Professor Parker, assistant to Huxley, of the London University, is appointed Professor of Natural History and Curator of the Mnsenm. A fire at Broad Bay destroyed a fiveroomed cottage. The insurance was £400 in the Union, furniture, £600 in the New Zealand. It belonged to Mr. Deach, junr.
