THE SITUATION IN AFFGHANISTAN. [p.euter's telegrams.] London, March 25. Authentic intelligence has been received with reference to the movements of the Affghan pretender, Abdurrahman, who recently crossed the river Ozus, from Russian territory, and was believed to be arming at Balkh and Candahar. Abdurrahman has now gained the Turcoman forces under Mahomed Isa, near Akocha, forty-four miles from Balkh, and presumably intends to descend upon Cabul should an opportunity offer. The strength of his force is not known. It is believed that General Roberts is watching his progress, and it i 3 expected that the British troops will secure the town of Charikar on the road to Balkh, in order to oppose Abdurrahman should he advance.
