Nelson, Friday. The interprovincial match commenced at 11 o'clock. The weather is splendid, and there are good wickets. Nolaon went in first, ond weie all out by 1 o'clock for 59 runs, the score being—Halliday, 0 ; Arnold, 2 ; Humphrey, 2; White, 9; Fowler, 10; Scdon, 2; Dilcock, 0 ; Fowler, 8; Wigell, C ; Nylor, 3 ; W. Eden, 6 ; extras, 7. Wellington goes in after luncheon.
CuRTSTCiiuncH, Friday. The largest score cyp.t made in Canterbury was put together to-day in the cricket match, the Public Schools and Universities against the World, 12 a-side. The latter, who included all the best bowlers in Canterbury, leaving their opponents very weak, went in tirst, and stayed there all day, making 401. Ashby made 112, out of 153 on the board when he left; Alpe, 97 ; Watson, $5 ; and Turuer, GG. The largest numbnr in a single innings previous 1 }* made wa3 377, on Hagley Park ground.
