"We have just learned (says the Qatmrit Mail) that Messrs. Royse, Stead aud Co. obtained the champion cup at the Sydney International Exhibition for wheat grown by Messrs. Fleming and Hedley, on the Seadown estate. New Zealand, therefore, has beaten the world, and we fe-sl proud that an CHmaru (irui was the means of her doing so. Now that the world's judges have decidcd that New Zealand lias exhibited the best wheat, perhaps the bias which grew so strong in favour of that of Adelaide will die out, and give place to a condition in which our wheat will be judged on its merits agaiust this most formidable oppouent. Messrs. Royse, Stead and Co. manufacture their wheat into ilour which bears the brand " Duncan," and has for years past maintained so high a reputation. Ifc is always to be had in Auckland from their agents, Messrs. T. H. Hall and Co. We would inform our readers, especially those who have not yet purchased their summer clothing, that T. McMaster, Queen-street, has opened his second shipment of seasonable a'oods, comprising novelties in dresses, millinery, fichues, and costumes ; also, a large stock of men's and boys' clothing, shirts, ties, and haid. These goods beiug imported direct from the best markets the prices will be found low.
