PRICES OF MEDICINES.

to the editor. Sir,—l do not know whether it is true or not that all, or nearly all, of our druggists are bound to buy their drugs and patent medicines of one firm, in the same manner as the publicans are bound to the brewers ; but the prices we have to pay now for patent or imported medicines are something shameful. 1 have just paid Is 6d for 12ozs. of Epsom salts is it possible that the increase of duties can make it nee.ssary to raise the price in this way ? Patent mtdiciues are now at prohibitory prices. It is impossible poor people can purchase them. As for the r.ch, they have their doctors ; but the poor must suffer until a change in prices takes place. —I am, &c, A Sufferer.
