BANKRUPTCY. Re John Geokge Tompsok.—A meeting of creditors was held yesterday, in this estate, in tbe Supreme Court building. The debtor was described as a master mari.ier formerly, of Christchurcb, now of Auckland. The liabilities were set down at £107 3s Id, and assets nil. Mr. Thomas Macffarlane was elected trustee. Re William KibeY. —A fir.-t meeting of creditors was held yesterday in this estate. The debtor was formerly a lire-wood dealer and contractor. The liabilities were set down at £441 5s 4d, and the assets at £300 (nominal), consisting of book debts. The Registrar of the Court occupied the chair. For some time after the time announced the meeting was kept waiting in consequence of the debtor. When be arrived two of the debtors directed the attention of the meeting to the condition in which he appeared to be. The debtor tjok off his coit, and addressed himself in anything but complimentary terms to the Registrar and Mr. Macffarlane. The Kegistr.tr said that Mr. Macffarlane was a justice of the peace, and should act in that capacity for the protection of the meeting. At length a policeman was sent for and broueht into tbe room where the creditors Wt re" assembled. During the presence of the officer the debtor was very quiet. The creditors elected Mr. Macffarlane trustee. The trustee said it waa not the slightest use proceeding to examine fie bankrupt, lie was not in a tit state to be questioned, aud the meeting was adjourned.
