Hero sailed yesterday afternoon, for Sydney and Melbourne, and was well patronised by passengers. The steamer is expected to be back in port about the 23th inst., and, on New Year's Day, will make her annual trip to Motu Tapu, with the Children and friends of the various City charities. The schooner Saucy Kate arrived in harbor yesterday, from the East Coast, with a small cargo of produce. She was unable to communicate with many of the settlements, in consequence of the severe weather that has prevailed on the Coast.

The schooner Colonist will commence to load up for the Chatham Inlands with timber, stores, and gear, on behalf the company, who are to try aDd get the wool out of the ahip Ocean Mail, that was wrecked sit the Islands some time ago. The s.s. Glenelg sailed last night for Mercury Bay and Tauranga, with passengers and cargo. TheTJnion Company's s.s. Wellington sailed yesterday morning, from the Manukau, for New Plymouth and tho Southern ports, with passengers and cargo. The s.s. Oreti sailed from the Mariuknu yesterday morning, for Waitara, Wanganui, and Wellington, with passengers and cargo.

The p.s. Comerang arrived iu the Manukiu yesterday afternoon from Waitara, with cattle and sheep. She will return to tho same port at 1 p.m. to-morrow. The s.s. Wallabi arrived in the Manukau yesterday morning from with a large number of sheep. She will return direct to Wanganui at 2.30 to-day. The Union Co.'a s.s. Wanaki iray be expected in harbour this evening from the East Coast and Southern ports.

The brigantine Meg Merrilies cleared at the Customs yesteiday for Levuka, Fiji, and will sail this morning. The following passengers proceed in her ; —Mrs. Woods, Mrs. Saunders and 4 children, Messrs. A. Sharpe, and Alexandra.

The schooner Venture was vfFered at public auction yesterday by Mr. Sibbin, but failed to find a purchaser.

Tho Kaipara Steamship Company, in accordance with the wish of the numerous passengers to and from the Northern Wairoa to provide refreshments on hoard the p.s. City of Cork, have added a steward's department to that vessel in the fore cabin, where tea, coffee, and biscuits and other refreshment#, or meals, can be procured at the usual scale of charges on passenger boats. It has long been a complaint that passengers from, the Wairoa, having no time allowed them at Helensville, can obtain nothing to eat or diink until they reach Auckland, and tho company deserve the thanka of the travelling public for this attention to their wants.

The following is the report of the round voyage, furnished by Captain Murray The schooner left Auckland on 19th September with a light easterly wind, and arrived at Tonga on the sth, experiencing head v>inds the entire passage. Left on the 9th, arriving at Habai on the 10th ; sailed again on the llth, arriving at Vavau on the 12th. Discharged cargo, ami left for Samoa on the 10th, uiriving on the 22nd ; encountering light head winds (.luring the passage. Left for Levuka on the 2nd November, being three days waiting to get out, there being no wind. The German warship Bismarck kindly lent her steam launch to tow us out to sea. Arrived in Levuka on the 7th; discharged cargo, and ballasted ship with sugar, and proceeded to Nandi to load maize on the 17th; left Nandi on the 2Jjrd, at daylight, clearing the reef at 5 p.m. Light S.J*', trades carried the vessel to the 30th parallel, then light S.W. and southerly winds until Ist instant, when the wind shifted to the cast and N.E. until arrival off Barrier on Tuesday night, making the li-irbour before midday yesterday. The brigantine Myrtle arrived in harbour last night from Tonga and the Friendly Islands; with numerous passengers and a valuable cargo of Islaud produce, as will be seen from our import list. The schoonei'? cruise has not been quite so long as usual, and yet the cargo is a spleudid one, consisting chiefly of copra. We are indebted to Captain Lane for the following record of tho vessel's passage:—The schooner left Auckland on Soeptember 17, with the wind from theN.E., and continued in that quarter up to the 27th, when it shifted to tho westward. Sighted Eoa on Saturday, October 4, and anchored at Nukualofa. On the Gth the mission brig John Wesley, from Sydney, arrived, aud two days afterwards the barque Wandsham. After reinaing a few days in port proceeded through the group to Habaai ami Vavau, returning back to Tonga the same way. Finally left the latter port for Auckland on November 19, and experienced light and variable winds up to making the land on Tuesday. Down the coast 15. and N.E. weather, arriving at the unchoragc at 7 p.m. yesterday. KAIPAIiA SHIPPING. Helensvile, December 3. — Arrivals : The barque Clara Hargrove, Captain C<ut, direct ! from Melbourne, arrived at Kaipara on Monday, j whero she loads about 250,000 feet of baulk , timber for John Ueid and Co. ; Onward, 1 schooner, Hannah Barrett, schooner, and Prince | Alfred, barqwrntine. I Departures: The brigantine Fauny sailed from Kaipara Heads on Tuesday, for Melbourne ; she has 120,000 feet of baulk timber, shipped by Johu Reid and Co. Th'. barque Glimpse, schooner Marmion, brig Prosperity, and brigantine Magellan Cloud, sailed the same day, with a light fair wind, and at sundown were all seen just outside the bar. 1 Loading: At Makarau, brigs Wild Wave ! and Pakeha, and brigantine Gamaru. At Te ! Kopuru, brigantine Augusta, barques Clara Hargreaves and J. L. Griffiths. At Artitapu, barque Elizabeth and brig Syren. ISLAND SHIPPING. The schooners Edith and Caledonia, from Auckland, left Vavau for Samoa about November 4. The barque Clara is loading in Tonga for the firm of Messrs. Goddefroi and Co. The schooner Midge, from Auckland, arrived all well iu Tonga, after a passage of 33 days.
