The steamer will sail for the above ports at 4 p.m. on Wednesday. The s.s. Theso annual tripe, instituted by this company, are eagerly looked for by a large section of the colonial pleasure-seeking public, and hitherto have been exceedingly woll patronised, and we have not the least doubt the forthcoming one will not be behind its predecessors in this respect. The Penguin is about ths most suitable steamer that could be found for such a service —a roomy and well-found vessel, possessing ample promenading spaf - :. and comfortable accommodation, and with Captain Malcolm as I commander, a more pleasar t prospect of spending a week or two in visiting some of ihe most remarkable places in the colony noted for their beauty of scenery, it is almost impossible to imagine. The steamer will finally leav? Port Chalmers on Wednesday, the 24th, returning on the Ist of the new year, and Auckland passengers can travel North by the c.-dinary steamers. Berths will be allotted on Saturday, the 13th instant, and passengers can be booked up to that date at the company's oftice, Queen street. The s.s. Kotuku arrived in harbour on Friday night, from the Stanley Landing, Upper Thames River, with 19,000 pounds weight of wool. She sailed again on Saturday afternoon, freighted with goods for the Waitoa settlers at Omuhu, and with harvesters, mannre, &c, for Stanley Landing. If the river be low, the steamer will resume snagging the Thames Kiver, a work which Mr. Firth hopes to complete before the en'd of the summer. The barque W. C. Wentworth, from Kaipara, arrived at Sydney on November 21st. The brigantine Roderick Dhu U on the berth at Melbourne for this port.
