LECTURE ON NEW ZEALAND.

An interesting lecture on "Farming in New Zealand" was given at the Corn Exchange ouo afternoon lately by the Rev. J. Berry, a Wesleyan minister, who haa Jived twelve year 3 in New Zealand, and who is now in Kngland on leave of absence. There was a good attendance of farmers and farm labours, who listened with marked interest to the lecturer's glowing description of the ease and success with which land is cultivated on the opposite Bide of the globe. Special attention was called to the fact that most of the land in New Zealand is entirely destitute of "bush," and, as a consequence, requires no clearing, a remark which would not apply to the colonies of Australia. Emphasis was also laid on the great superiority of the cliirate, proof of which was offered in the statement that geraniums, fuschias, and other English flowers bloom all the year round in Now Zealand. For agriculturists with small capital New Zealand olfered great advantages. On the motion of the Kev. \V. H. Osborne, of Staintou, a very cordial vote of thanks was accorded to Mr. Berry for his lectnre.
