POLICE COXTRT.—F2IDA.T. [Before S. O. Biistow, Esq., E.M.] liTDECEscy. — John Moore was charged with exposing his person in Queen-street. Prisoner pleaded guilty. Fined 40s and costs, or seven days' imprisonment with hard labour. Alleged Assault.—Sydney D.Taiwhanga was charged with assaulting his wife, Sarah, by striking her on the face with his fiet. Mr. Dufacr appeared for the defendant; but, a3 the plaintiff did not appear, the case was dismissed. OTAHITH'rj R.M. COURT.—June 24. Before E. C. Baratow, Esq.. E.M.] E-KEiCH of Protection of Animals Act, 1573.—0. B. Edwards aud John Carr King were charged by the rang';r, Constable Graham, with a breach of the above Act, by trespassing with gun and dog on the farm belonging to Mr. -]}\ R. Claude, at Fapahinu, on the sth of April last. The defendants did not appear when their names were called. F. K. Claude, on being sworn, deposed that he did not give any one permission to go over his farm, and that anyone doing so with gun and dog would be trespassing. He did not see the parties in question himself, bat was told of it when he returned Irom the Waikato. E. Frost, a lad who ivas in the employ of Mr. Claude at the time, deposed that on going over the farm . . en the day iu question, he came across four men and a boy with five dogs ; three of the men had guns. He asked one of them his same, and he said it was Brown, bat he had since learned that his name wns King. He tad heard him called by that name several times at the Papatoitoi station. Patrick Quigley, cooper, was called as a witness for the prosecution, but did not answer to hie came. At this stage the case was adjourned till noxt Court day, the 22nd July. A warrant was subsequently obtained for Mr Quigley's apprehension. CrviL Cases.— J. Bond v. Thomas Kowa, claim £27 for labour and detention of ceViain agricultural produce. The plaintiff antfc defendant's statements occupied-the attend tior. of the Court several boars, and, after' bearing the evidence of a number of witnesses, judgment was given for plaintiff for £4 93 Gd, with Ss costs. —Thomas Bower.
