ST. LUKE'S PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH ENTERTAINMENT.
A very interesting entertainment took place in Bt. Luke's Presbyterian Churoh, Reamers, yesterday evening. The entertainment was opened by the singing of a. hymn, after which the Rev. Mr. Munro engaged in prayer. Considering the inclemenoy of the weather, there was a large attendance. Mr. J. M. Lennox addressed the meeting, and stated that it gave him great pleasure to see so large an attendance. He did not expeot to see so many. He was pleased to see so many grown-up peraons present, encouraging the work of the Sabbath - school. If any o£ them had money they did not want, the library of the Sunday-school needed it. (Cheers.) And, if they had time to epare on Sundays, it could be beneficially employed at the school.—The choir then sang " Will you meet me at the fountain."—The Rev. Mr. Munro then announced that Mr. Crook would exhibit his limelight pictures. The exhibition opened with views of some of the principal buildings ia London. After the exhibition ended prizes were given to the following members of Mr. Munro's Bible-claaa:— Andrew Stewart, Misa Kate Wrigley, Miss Stewart, Miss Bruce, and Miss Kilgour. Each of the prize-winners received a few words of congratulation from Mr. Munro as he handed them the prize. During the exhibition of the lime-light the utmost order prevailed, and Mr. Crook's explanations oJ the several views were much appreciated. The hymns by the choir were rendered ia good taste. Mr. Probert presided at the harmonium. A vote of thanks to Mr. Probert, Mr. Crook, and to the Rev. Mr. Munro for the admirable manner in which he presided was passed, which brought the evening's entertainment to a close. \ i ■ ■ I ~~ — ~~ ~~~~~ ~ — ~*
